Default elemental weaknesses

Do the elementals in the PvE game take more damage from their opposite element? And if so, let's say you are an elementals specializing in fire and have no points in water and you know you are going to face fire elementals, would you do more damage with the weak water spells? thanks.

For mobs its totaly dependent on the mob and doesn't have to have anything to do with what skills they use but sometimes, yes a fire mob is weak to water ect.. In the end though this is not going to be a factor for what skills you want to pick.

For players the simple answer is No. Back a couple beta weekends the armor of elementalist used to have +fire -water resistance. Now its just +fire or whatever element. This is not dependent on how you are speced though you could be have points in water and wear the pyro armor for the fire resists. This is really not a factor when deciding on what skills you want to use or how you want to play I personaly just pick the best looking stuff . Some people think one element is more commonly used so they use that set of armor but *shrug* it changes.
